The Creative Arts Express the Heart of God

Have you ever had a passion for something that burned on the inside of you? What do you believe is your calling and purpose? Do you allow God to stretch your faith for more than you could ever imagine? Ephesians 3:20 says: God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we dare to ask or imagine according to His power that is working on the inside of us. I encourage you to take a few moments to write down what you believe. A purpose (vision) from God starts with faith (a belief) that God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we dare to ask or imagine. Although I’ve been hosting creative gatherings, I don’t usually have the time to explain “why,” the creative arts hold value to me. Let’s keep it simple: the creative arts express the heart of God.

I am not just passionate about the “creative arts,” in and of itself. I am passionate about seeing the fullness of God’s heart expressed through His people. I don’t want to see the Body of Christ put a limit on anything that God could release through us. I don’t want to see the Body of Christ “miss,” the miracle, the beauty, or tangible expression of His presence. There is no greater privilege than to know God and walk alongside Him. There’s so much more I could share. For now, I want to share 10 beliefs that fuel my passion for this ministry: Creative Activation. Maybe the words will encourage you to see the purpose and story behind this ministry. However, my greater hope is for this vision to encourage you to write down what you believe in reference to your calling and purpose. When you have a vision, you can push through, you can conquer, you can finish the race. Be encouraged.

  1. I believe that the creative arts locked into the presence of God, with the practical implication of truth from the Word of God and the influence of the Holy Spirit, can bring revival, transformation, and hope to the lives of everyday people.
  2. I believe that God wants to use the creative arts, media, and entertainment to evangelize to those who do not know Jesus.
  3. I believe that God wants to use social media or public media like radio or television, to bring spiritual and emotional healing to those who are brokenhearted or suffering.
  4. I believe that God wants to do the uncommon through creativity. I believe God wants to bring people who have unique creative gifts together – in divine alignment for divine collaboration.
  5. I believe the church has often times put God in a box. I believe the creative expression that God wants to release includes music, but goes beyond music or what we see in typical worship services. I believe God wants to incorporate all forms of creative expression for a creative explosion of His presence.
  6. I believe God wants His Bride to rise up and go take back the mountain of media and entertainment for His glory, for media and entertainment was His original design.
  7. I believe God wants His creatives to step away from competition by breaking off the “artists on an island” mentality. Islands are separated from other land. But, I believe God is calling the church to unity in this hour. I believe as Christian artists come together of all races, nationalities, denominations, and backgrounds, this representation of creatives will reflect heaven. In a season where we have seen so much anger, violence, racism, and hate, creatives in unity become a testimony of love and acceptance. Creatives in unity become a testimony of the love of Jesus. I believe creatives can release healing to those who have encountered racism or rejection.
  8. I believe that the “Josephs” are arising, creative artists who already have divine ideas, concepts, imaginations, and dreams that have come directly from the heart of God. I believe that God wants to release creatives from their “prisons” and give them vision and insight, unlocking their passion for the arts again. We can partner with God and the Holy Spirit to see a rebirth and renaissance of the arts in the church.
  9. In Genesis, God spoke the world into existence. Therefore, as He created, He spoke “light” into existence, and then there was light. I believe that we will begin to see the prophetic and the creative be used in miraculous ways. I believe that creatives will be drawn to grow in the prophetic and vice versa…prophetic people will be drawn to grow in the creative. Surrendering to the Spirit’s leading, we’ll witness the creative miracles of heaven.
  10.  I believe that their are creative artists who have been hidden – and in a sense, afraid to activate their creativity. This hidden tendency could be due to a spirit of fear or timidity – but it could be the result of isolation, depression, disappointment, loss, performance, failure, sin, or living separate from a relationship with Jesus. I believe God will heal the brokenhearted creatives. God is bringing His beautiful creatives out of the shadows into His light. They will no longer be hidden. I believe that God will break fear off of creatives and they will be seen – for the purpose of glorifying Jesus!
